The area known as Périgord Vert (Green) lies north and north west of the Town of Perigueux. It has many Towns and Villages of historical significance and beauty and includes Brantome (the Venice of Perigord), Nontron (Ville et Métiers d'Art), Bourdeilles (with its Renaissance Castle and Medieval Tower) and Saint-Jean-de-Cole listed as 'one of the most beautiful villages in France'.
