The Dordogne and Lot rivers, tributaries and dozens of fishing lakes are renowned for being a fisherman’s paradise! Carp, Barbel, Pike and Trout abound with Rivers being categorised accordingly! The France Federation of Fishing local websites are the best place to start! Fishing requires a Permit (Carte de Peche) which can be purchased online or locally! Please note there are ‘No Kill’ rules on parts of the River Lot, Célé and Bave to preserve stocks! Many Gites and Campsites close to the main rivers offer fishing based holidays.
