Domaine Ichard

Domaine Ichard is a small vineyard of 11 and a half hectares; it is located in Loupiac a few kilometers from Puy l'Evêque in a very touristy region, in the heart of the Cahors appellation. The majority of the vineyard enjoys good exposure, and maximum sunshine. We practice manual thinning, or green harvest to control our yields and a clearing on the rising sun side to perfect the maturation.

The treatments of the vine are carried out in a reasoned manner, limiting the use of fertilisers and phytosanitary products to a minimum, in order to obtain a natural product, respecting the environment. The main malbec grape variety (also called Auxerrois or Cot) accounts for 70% of the total grape variety. It is he who gives cahors wine its tannic side, its beautiful color and its ability to age. The complementary grape variety, The Black Merlot, accounts for 30% of the vines.
