Chateau Lacapelle Cabanac

The heights that dominate the Lot Valley, once gave a wine whose reputation extended to the Americas. A black wine like ink, muscular, tasty...  Destroyed a hundred years ago by phylloxera, its malbec grape variety had been replanted on the more fertile soils below.
A handful of winemakers set out to reclaim the forgotten lands. At the Château Lacapelle Cabanac, on the clay-limestone causse, cahors has regained its original terroir.
