Chateau La Carriere

Château La Carrière, which sleeps 18 guests in total, can be divided into two parts: the North Wing and the South Wing.

The North Wing of the Château which is the oldest part, sleeps 10 guests in 5 bedrooms. One of them is the beautiful and elegant Bridal Suite, which is located in a tower and only accessible by turret stairs. The Suite has panoramic views on all four sides, a super king-size bed and a separate seating area. Below the Bridal Suite is a luxurious bathroom with a built-in dressing room.

Two large bedrooms, Chambre des Lauriers and Chambre des Platanes, are on the first floor of the main building. The former, which has a vaulted ceiling and beautiful wall mouldings, exudes a distinctly elegant atmosphere. The latter, by contrast, has exposed original beams, which give the room a cosy, rustic character. Chambre des Lauriers has two double beds, whilst Chambre des Platanes has one king-size bed. Both rooms share a spacious marble ensuite bathroom (with extra shower cubicle).

Two additional bedrooms, Chambre des Rosiers and Chambre des Cerisiers, are located in the central tower of the Château. Both rooms are dual-facing and have some of the most amazing views of the entire Château. Chambre des Rosiers has a king-size bed, whilst Chambre des Cerisiers has a super-king, which can be converted into two singles. Each of the bedrooms has its own marble ensuite bathroom.

On the ground floor, you will find a large 'rustic' living room with stone walls, exposed beams and a large original open fireplace. Beside it is a beautifully appointed dining room with space for all 18 guests. From either the living or the dining room, you can access the amazing 20-meter sun terrace with stunning views over the adjacent valley. Close to the dining room is a comfortable kitchen with all equipment you will need, including four Miele ovens.

The South Wing:
The South Wing of the Château, which sleeps 8 guests, is the luxurious lower part of the building and the Pigeonnier (dove cote).

There are three spacious bedrooms with ample wardrobe space. Chambre des Lavandes, which has a king-size bed and marble bathroom ensuite, has access to a stone balcony with its own private seating area. The bedroom below, Chambre des Jonquilles, also has a king-size bed and marble bathroom ensuite. It has access to a small patio area and its own private lawn. A third bedroom, Chambre des Glycines, has a super king-size bed, which can be converted into two singles. It also has an adjacent library and kids' play room.

In the South Wing of the Château you will find a second kitchen and dining room, both of which have doors leading to a large outside terrace. There is an additional large living room with windows on three sides. From here, you can access a charming round outdoor terrace overlooking the valley.

The Pigeonnier, a charming free-standing tower-like building located close to the Château, comprises the last bedroom (with double bed) of the South Wing. A bathroom with a double shower is located on the ground floor of the Pigeonnier and is accessed separately.
The Estate:
Château La Carrière is set on a 28-hectare (66 acre) estate, which includes a huge garden, fields and large forest areas. Situated on a sloping hill and overlooking a valley, the garden consists of a major lawn with various tall and mature pine and deciduous trees. These include sycamores, copper beeches, chestnuts, hazelnuts, weeping willows and various fruit trees. These trees complement the impressive row of platanes adorning the driveway down to the Château.

On the west side of the estate, a path descends into the woods to the bottom of the valley. It meanders through various fields and forest areas belonging to Château La Carrière and connects to several other distant trails. The pathways, which can be used for hiking as well as mountain biking, offer a fantastic way to discover the unspoilt beauty of the estate as well as neighbouring areas.The pool of Château La Carrière, which measures 12m x 6m (40 x 20 ft) and is 2.1m (4 ft) deep at the deepest point, is situated in the middle of the main lawn. From there, you have stunning views over the valley and you can enjoy enchanting sunsets. The pool is surrounded by an array of colourful flowers, plants and shrubs, which together form a unique, delightful setting. The pool has plenty of wooden sun loungers, as well as matching tables, chairs and footrests. There is also a shower and guests can receive WiFi at their convenience.

​The Pool and Pool House:
Next to the pool there is a stylish gazebo, which can bring shelter from the sun when needed. Behind the gazebo you will find the Pool House, an octagonal cabin with large windows, each of which can be opened individually. The Pool House has a shower, toilet, kitchen as well as in- and outside seating areas. Guests can use the fridge and cooking equipment, including a gas hob, oven, microwave and BBQ, at their convenience.

The Lake:
In the back of the garden of Château la Carrière, you will find an impressive Japanese-style lake. It is surrounded by a wealth of trees, shrubs and plants, and is home to many fish, including a number of koi. A pebbled path allows you to walk around the lake and take in its beauty. A boat can be used to enjoy the lake from the water.

The Lake and Lake House:
There are four small islands in the lake. On the largest, which is accessible by an eye-catching wooden bridge, you will find the charming Lake House. This is octagonal cabin with large windows, each of which can be opened individually. The Lake House has a small outside kitchen, and there are seating areas both in- and outside.

The Gym and Hot Tub:
Château la Carrière will have its own gym. It is currently under construction, but we can reveal that the fitness centre will have a treadmill, spinning bike, a full weight set (1-15kg), work-out bench as well as smaller equipment, such as medicine balls, Swiss balls and Bodylastics resistance bands.

The gym will also have an Hydropool hot tub for 6 people (which is already installed!). There is also a shower and a changing room. Towels will be provided.

The Cinema:
Guests of Château la Carrière can enjoy films in its own purpose-built cinema. Built in an fairytale-like Asian style, the cinema has comfortable silk sofas and fauteuils with accompanying footrests. With a click of a button, the ceiling can be turned into a mesmerising night sky with large and small stars, even some shootings stars!

The cinema has a DVD collection and can also play Netflix. Guests can also bring their own DVDs and Blue Ray discs.

The Elephant Bar:
Château la Carrière has its own bar: the Elephant Bar. Here, you and your party can relax with a glass of locally produced wine or an aperitif, either sitting at the bar or in comfortable fauteuils. Please note that the Elephant Bar is open by appointment only.
